The cottages are unusual in that the bedrooms and bathrooms
are downstairs and the daily living area is upstairs.
Downstairs opens into a large
enclosed south-facing courtyard with barbeque equipment and
outdoor furniture supplied - a real suntrap.
Upstairs
opens onto a small lawn beyond which lies the car parking
area and a Ramblers’ Association footpath.
The
cottages can be joined together so can
sleep four, six, eight, ten, twelve or eighteen people
(including sofa beds). Midweek changeovers are welcomed. The
cottages are interlinked and soundproofed, fireproofed and
have independently locked double doors.
Each cottage
is very cosy, yet light and airy and full of charm. Each has
double-glazing throughout and a traditional wood burner upstairs.
Upstairs, each cottage is open-plan with a wood-effect floor,
attractive window shutters, high ceilings, with beautifully
equipped kitchen and dining area. Each kitchen
has a fridge and electric cooker with fan assisted oven and
separate grill. Shippon and Cider cottages have a dishwasher.
Each sitting
room is well equipped with TV, video and music system.
Each has a double sofa bed for extra guests.
The bedrooms are carpeted and electrically heated. Every bath/shower
room has underfloor heating. Each cottage has a washing
machine.
Just next door, the drying room
is equipped with a freezer and tumble dryer for general use.
Towels
and bed linen are provided. Mid week changeovers are welcomed.
